Web Design, Browser Rendering, and The Death of Internet Explorer 6
Here’s a recommended best practice in web design that we follow as closely as possible:
Design your website so that it renders properly (i.e. looks the way it’s supposed to) in all common web browsers
The tricky part of this statement is the phrase “all common web browsers.” There are, unfortunately, dozens of web browsers. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Mozilla’s Firefox, Apple’s Safari, and Google’s Chrome are the major PC browsers, compromising about 96% of the total. Spork Site Launch – TriandTriAgain.com
Wendy Naarup is an interesting lady. In addition to being a successful business person, she’s also an accomplished triathlete, a devoted mother, and a motivational speaker. I met Wendy at the November NYC Word Camp, and after speaking with her briefly I think we both left an impact on the other. When Wendy called a few days later and asked me to work on her website, I was happy to do so.
Wendy’s project was unique in that we didn’t do a ground-up custom design. Instead, we modified an existing Wordpress theme to create a good-looking site on a low budget.
Here are some notes from this project: Read More

When the average person goes to buy a brand new car, they usually don’t stop by the tire shop first. There’s not much sense in buying tires for a car you don’t have, and besides, don’t most new cars come with tires?
Yet for some inexplicable reason, people often work with a search engine marketing firm after they’ve been to the tire shop web designer. A great web design is like a great set of tires – it’s fantastic, but without an engine to make the wheels turn, tires are just decoration.
Search engine marketing firms like Spork are often the engine that drives a website. Before you buy your next new car website, here are 5 reasons to start the web design process by speaking with a search engine marketing firm first: Read More
