Must-See Denver Brewery Videos

OK Denver – three things:

1. The Great American Beer Festival is open – do you know your beer trivia yet? If not, you need to read up on your Colorado Beer Facts.

2. No one should plan on driving back from the GABF – at least not if they want to have any fun. So, if you’re attending the GABF, get yourself a hotel room, a designated driver, or plan on standing in line waiting for a cab when it’s time to go home.

3. You can’t call yourself a “Denverite” until you’ve raised a glass at our 10 Must-See Denver Breweries. Every one of these places are worth a visit, especially the Bull & Bush and the Dry Dock Brewing Co.

Why these two? Because they were the only breweries we contacted about our list who were smart kind enough to Read More

Video SEO Basics Part 2

In Video SEO Basics Part 1, I talked about where you can place a video (answer: on your website first, then on video sharing sites) and the best way to maximize the search engine value of video you place on your own website. In part 2, I’ll talk about the basics of optimizing a video you upload to YouTube, the juggernaut of video sharing sites in the USA.

By the way, I created a quick little video that I hope sums up all the points here clearly and concisely – see below. Read More

Video SEO Basics Part 1

Branding with Online Video

The term “branding” is popular jargon in the marketing, advertising, and public relations industries. People talk about “brand equity” and “brand awareness” as if “branding” is something quantifiable. Here’s what I think “branding” really means:

  1. Whether or not people can recall your business name.
  2. What people think about your business if and/or when they remember you.

Therefore, “branding” encompasses every aspect of your business. Everything – from the signs on your company vehicles to the advertising catch phrases you use to each and every individual customer interaction you have – falls under “branding” in one way or another.

If you read my post about small business branding ideas, you know that I like to focus on the practical aspects of “branding.” I’ve been talking about the sales and marketing benefits of online video for the last couple of weeks. Today, I’d like to touch on the branding aspects of online video. Read More

Boost Website Visitors with Online Video

Creating a video and uploading it to popular video sharing sites – like YouTube and Metacafe – is an easy and effective way to boost traffic to your website when done correctly.

Bring more visitors to your website with video.

Bring more visitors to your website with video.

Here’s how you make it happen:

1) Install web analytics if you don’t have them already. You need analytics to figure out how many people are visiting your website because of your video. See my post on website analytics and ROI for more information.

2) Create a video. There are a lot of video production options available. While it might make sense for some businesses to hand a video camera to a staff member and upload whatever they come up with, other businesses will want to hire a professional production company. Whatever it is that you upload, make sure it’s short, authentic, and that you have some sort of “results tracking system” in place. Also, very important: Put a call to action in your video that asks people to visit your site. Something simple like “Visit SporkMarketing.com for more information” works OK, but if you can find a way to offer something specific, i.e. “SporkMarketing.com has more video tips and an e-book on video marketing” that will work best….and check out our low cost video production service Running Stills while you’re at it! :-) Read More

Online Video and Website Engagement

In today’s post, I’m going to evaluate our new online video marketing product Running Stills against website engagement, one of the 7 metrics for measuring online video marketing that I identified a couple of weeks ago.

This crude video from a recent flight I took while traveling in Costa Rica is a great example of “engagement’ in action. Once you start watching, you won’t be able to turn away until you see how the video ends.

“Engagement” is a popular buzz-word right now in the Internet industry. People talk about creating “engaging” web content, “engaging” ad copy, etc. Because I’m a big believer in simplicity, I’m going to describe engagement as “face time for your website.” Read More

Online Video Marketing – Tracking Video Calls To Action

As we continue to market and develop Running Stills, I want to explain how Spork Marketing determined the value of a Running Stills video internally. I’ve already identified the 7 metrics for determining the value of an online video, and earlier this week I talked about the potential value of one video viewer. Today, I’m going to discuss establishing the value of a video by tracking calls to action. Read More
