Spork Site Launch – TriandTriAgain.com

Wendy Naarup is an interesting lady. In addition to being a successful business person, she’s also an accomplished triathlete, a devoted mother, and a motivational speaker. I met Wendy at the November NYC Word Camp, and after speaking with her briefly I think we both left an impact on the other. When Wendy called a few days later and asked me to work on her website, I was happy to do so.

Wendy’s project was unique in that we didn’t do a ground-up custom design. Instead, we modified an existing Wordpress theme to create a good-looking site on a low budget.

Here are some notes from this project:

1. Wendy is also a fan of Logo Design Team. Every person that I introduce to Logo Design Team absolutely loves them – for $150, they’ll create a great-looking logo. It’s the deal of a century – if you haven’t already done so, read why we recommend them for logo design services.

2. A little bit of graphic design can go a long way. Just some simple touches – the faux polaroids at the top of the sidebar, choosing border colors that complement the logo, and a simple headshot with quotes – make Wendy’s site look a lot different than the template we started with.

3. A touch of animation makes a big difference. Wendy invested in an animated logo, and it looks very, very nice. It also meshes well with her concept of “keeping your dribble,” which basically means that we should all be responsible for our own lives, happiness, and well-being.

4. We got this done fast – about a week from beginning to end. Getting the project on the schedule took longer than completion. We have Wendy to thank – she was easy to reach for feedback and very clear about what she wanted.

5. It’s search engine friendly. In the few short weeks since the site went live, it’s been indexed by Google and it shows up in the top 10 for Wendy’s name. As time goes by and Wendy builds links and adds content to her site, her results will improve. It all starts with a SEO structure.

Wendy – thanks for contacting me! My team and I are happy to work on all projects, from ground-up custom designs that require custom programming to quick modifications of existing sites. Learn more about our SEO web design services.

Jason…Wow, so cool that you did this. Thanks but working with you was the real pleasure. You made everything so easy. I am technically challenged so probably had more questions than most. You never made me feel foolish. I knew you had my best interest in mind throughout and that made it easy to trust your great advice. Thanks again!!!!
