Free Advertising Opportunities For Denver Small Businesses
Here’s a list of free advertising opportunities for Denver businesses. While this list is catered to Denver, anyone can use these tips for their own local market with a little bit of searching.
- MileHighOnTheCheap.com – This website is fairly new, yet it’s already been featured on the local news a couple of times. If you have a special deal, a coupon, a giveaway, etc., send the specifics to Claire or Laura and they might just publish it. NOTE: This site is part of a national network – great tip for anyone in any city.
- BestColoradoDeals.com – Very similar to MileHighOnTheCheap.com.
- RetailMeNot.com – This is quickly becoming a GREAT free advertising source, but you have to be clever. In order to participate, you must create a profile. Since advertising is strictly forbidden, there’s a very fine line to walk. Submitting coupons for your own business to be helpful to the community is OK, but if you’re not taking the time to submit coupons to other businesses as well, your profile will quickly get axed. My advice – participate naturally. Share some coupons and/or deals you come across during your normal life, and once in a while submit a coupon for your own business. That way you’re helping to build the community and it won’t look like you’re advertising…hopefully.
- Google Local Coupons – You can add a coupon to your Google local listing free of charge. Considering how powerful your Google local listing is, it’s well worth your time if you offer some sort of deal or discount.
- Finally, the mega-classifieds sites Vast.com, Oodle.com, Backpage.com, and of course Craigslist.org are all free and worth a try. Craigslist in particular is incredibly popular, but don’t ignore the smaller sites Vast, Oodle, and Backpage. They all represent a decent opportunity. TIP: Visit Vflyer.com – you can create professional looking ads for all the free classifieds sites, and Vflyer can also automatically post your ads to Vast, Oodle, Google Base, and half a dozen other free classifieds sites (you’ll still have to post to Backpage and Craigs manually).
I’ve had some success using many of these sites to promote client businesses – take the time to post and you might be pleasantly surprised at the results.
