Denver Search Engine Optimization Tips and Tricks

I’m going to open up my big bag of tricks today and let you in on some top-secret information tips and tricks that I use to help Denver businesses boost their search engine results. While these tips are for Denver businesses, any local business will benefit from following these suggestions.

1. Get Listed. This website is excellent – it’s GetListed.org and it’s a must for any small business to get their local profile up on the major search engines. Best of all, it’s FREE!

2. Local directory submission. Whenever I’m helping a client get their local business website to the top of the search engine rankings, I submit their profile to more than 25 local directories. Here’s an abbreviated list:

  • masterseek.com
  • merchantcircle.com
  • business.accoona.com
  • universalbusinesslisting.org
  • citysquares.com

3. Do you remember Mr. Rogers? Do you remember the song “Who are the people in your neighborhood?” Every city has special neighborhood names that locals know, and creating content specific to these neighborhood names is a good tactic for getting some local search visitors. For example, if you’re trying to give your downtown Denver Real Estate office a search engine boost, why not add “LoDo” or “Capitol Hill” to your website’s title tag? Why not create a resource of some kind for residents of a specific neighborhood (say Congress Park Denver) to attract search engine visitors. Here’s a list of local neighborhoods and colloquial place names for Denver businesses to consider creating content for:

  • Congress Park
  • Capitol Hill
  • LoDo
  • Old towne
  • “The Ranch”
  • Highlands (not the ranch)
  • Park Meadows…and many more

You get the idea. While it seems obvious, many business websites miss this opportunity.

4. Press Releases. Search engine optimized press release with keyword rich headlines are an excellent search engine optimization tool. Depending on how competitive your keywords are, some free press release sites (like PRLog.org) can offer enough “link juice” to help your website rank. Still, the best bet is to pay for a professionally written SEO press release (we just so happen to offer that service…shameless self promotion, no?).

5. Local Charities. Contributing to a local charity is good for many reasons. First, it’s good to help. Second, local charities will bring you local business. Third, a link from a local charity web site – especially one related to your business – is a great link for boosting your search engine profile.

Theses are just 5 tips and tricks – you’ll have to contact us to learn more! :-)
